What is Chlorella Supplement

Chlorella is a green alga and is a freshwater organism. It is a single cell about the size of a red blood cell.

It has a thick, multilayered cell wall, which is normally very difficult to digest and is therefore removed by a rather complicated mechanical process in the production of all preparations.

Chlorella Powder has two to three times more chlorophyll than spirulina Powder but lacks phycocyanin pigments, which in the case of spirulina are four to fourteen times higher than the content of chlorophyll, and the proportion of carotenoids is also lower.

The total content of plant pigments for human health is one-fifth of that of spirulina.

On the other hand, the content of nucleic acids, i.e. DNA and RNA, is approximately three times higher than in spirulina, but there are fewer amino acids.

Chlorella also lacks valuable fatty acids, such as linoleic acid or the very rare gamma-linolenic acid, and five sulfolipids that strengthen the immune system.

Chlorella Supplement contains twice as much vitamin B6, essential for the absorption and transport of amino acids, and vitamin C, which Spirulina Supplement does not contain at all. In addition, there is a three times higher level of inositol - a compound important for the functioning of the liver and higher than in spirulina the content of folic acid necessary for the production of nucleic acids. It also contains larger amounts of biotin needed for both amino acids and fatty acids. However, this is not the most important factor, because biotin is synthesized in the body by bacteria in the digestive tract. The amount of the remaining vitamins is more or less the same as in spirulina.

Chlorella has comparable amounts of base-forming minerals and numerous trace elements, including three times more copper and iodine.

Scientific research on the influence of chlorella on the human body confirms many properties valuable for health, including the excretion of heavy metal salts and other toxins, including chlorocarbons and residues of insecticides and pesticides. In addition, it strengthens the immune system, improves liver function and promotes healing of wounds.
