On June 4th, Megadeth will release their 14th studio album, Super Collider, on Tradecraft/UME. Now you can take an exclusive listen to the album cut "The Blackest Crow." Opening with the eerie pluck of a banjo (that's actually a six-string guitar mounted on a banjo body) and a pitter-patter snare, the metal heroes bring the heavy thrash quickly while retaining the track's initial bluegrass bent.
Frontman Dave Mustaine reveals that the track was inspired by his mother-in-law's struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. The song was then "altered to be more about a tragic loss and the depression that follows," he tells Rolling Stone.
