Brandon Barash /

Brandon Joseph Barash (born October 4, 1979) is an American actor. Before Barash caught the acting bug, he had aspirations of being a cardiac surgeon. In high school, he underwent knee surgery for the chance to play college basketball. His girlfriend at that time got him in the school's musical audition without his knowing. Barash attended the University of Southern California and got a BFA Degree in Acting. During his time at USC Brandon starred in several theater productions. Barash also attended the Harvey Lembeck Comedy Workshop and is currently training with Lesly Kahn. Barash is known for playing Jamie, Paris Gellar's 1st real boyfriend on Gilmore Girls. Presently, he is portraying Johnny Zacchara on General Hospital. Barash was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and is the son of Jerry L. Barash, President & CEO of Sysco Food Services of Ventura and his first wife Susan G. Hughes. His stepfather is Judge Leonard Hughes III. Brandon has one brother Jordan B. Barash and one sister Alison L. Barash. His stepmother is Karen M. Barash. Brandon has lived in Missouri, Texas and California. Brandon is also Jewish.
