Destineer is a computer game developer and publisher based in Minnesota, United States. It was founded in 2000 by former Bungie Studios vice-president, Peter Tamte. It releases titles under a number of brands, including MacSoft, Bold Games and Atomic Games. Published titles have included such games as Age of Empires III, Halo for the Mac, Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45, and Starship Troopers. Destineer acquired Atomic Games on May 6, 2005. Destineer is a privately held corporation headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, with development studios in Minneapolis, Raleigh, NC, and Austin, TX, and is led by executives who helped build Bungie, Red Storm, and Atari into industry leaders. Destineer has strong financial backing from a variety of notable investors, including In-Q-Tel, a private venture capital firm funded by the US Central Intelligence Agency.
