Líneas Aéreas Azteca was a low-cost airline based in Mexico City, Mexico. It operated domestic scheduled services and international services to the USA. Its main base is Mexico City International Airport, with a hub at General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport, Tijuana .
Operations of the airline were suspended by the government in March 2007 due to safety problems, and in October 2007 the Mexican airline association allowed it to restart operations.
Azteca was invited to join Star Alliance in 2007, but before it can join, it ceased operations.
It was Mexico's second special low-cost carrier, after now-defunct TAESA and now-defunct SARO.
