The Originals is an upcoming American television series that will air on The CW during the 2013–14 American television season. It will air on Tuesdays in the 8/7c timeslot before Supernatural starting on October 15, 2013.
A spin-off from The Vampire Diaries and set in New Orleans, The Originals centers on the Mikaelson siblings, otherwise known as the world's original vampires: Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Rebekah (Claire Holt). It was revealed during the backdoor pilot aired on April 25, 2013, that recurring character Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is pregnant with Klaus' child. Now Klaus must take down his protégé, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who is now in charge of New Orleans, in order to take his city back, as he originally built New Orleans. Klaus left half way and Marcel took charge and now Klaus' ego has provoked him to become the king of the city. "Every King needs an heir" says Klaus, accepting the child.
