You see, that last bit was (not at all) funny because we Yanks likely best know Hugh Laurie from his starring role in the long-running medical drama, House, in which the actor played an addicted, yet brilliant physician who had a knack for trailing off mid-sentence at the 45 minute mark of each episode, with some part of the current conversation striking him with a medical breakthrough that miraculously solved the case.
